" Sailing with Jean Gillon"

The show "Sailing with Jean Gillon", curated by Enock Sacramento and Graça Bueno, brings together works by Jean Gillon (Iasi-Romania/1919-Sao Paulo-Brazil/2007) in the fields of modern furniture, object, tapestry, set design, painting, drawing and sculpture, dating from 1940 to 2005. Simultaneously with the exhibition the Gallery PASSADO COMPOSTO SÉCULO XX, announces the relaunch of his most famous and award-winning chair called "Jangada"(Raft), exclusively authorized by the designer Jean Gillon family and in limited edition.

The exhibition is part of the Gallery mission to value and rescue the memory of design and national art and, thus, to follow up work to disseminate the work of Jean Gillon, as highlighted in books and exhibitions realized at the Gallery Passado Composto Século XX between 2009 and 2014, such as "Forever Modern", "Artists of Modern Tapestry", "Modern Brazil" and "Modern Signatures". In addition to other events that had the collaboration of the Gallery, including the exhibition "The Modern Brazilians + 1", held in the Oscar Niemeyer Museum of Curitiba - Paraná (MOM) (2010) and

"I Design Salon" at the Oca in Sao Paulo (2011).

The Gallery will hold previews for the DW-SP special guests, which will take place at the Gallery's location from August 12th through 14th.
Sailing with Jean Gillon exhibition will also be held at the MADE event, from August 12th to August 16th, 2015, at the location: Jockey Club de São Paulo.
